Eagle Village concert series to start Sept. 7th

A new Wednesday-evening concert series at Eagle Village in Fredericksburg will start Sept. 7. The Caribbean-style band Tropikiimba will kick off the series with a concert that will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  in front of the new retail and office building. Plans call for the stage to be set up near the pedestrian bridge over U.S. 1 to the University of Mary Washington. Schiavone McGee, D.J. Williams Projekt and Jackass Flats are the scheduled performers for the nights of Sept. 14, Sept. 21 and Sept. 28, respectively. The concert series has been dubbed “Fred-For-All.” Tickets are $5 each, and the event will raise money for the Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic in Fredericksburg. Click here for more information.

Home Team Grill managing partner Garland Taylor has taken the lead in organizing the concert series. He thinks it could raise awareness about Eagle Village and help Home Team Grill and fellow retailers market themselves. If successful, it could be a recurring weekly event next summer. It is patterned after the longtime Jumpin’ in July concert series in Richmond, which raised money for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
